Jalen M. Davis, a 19-year-old from Kansas City, Missouri, was found dead on September 18, 2020. The Kansas City Police Department (KCPD) responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle in the 7300 block of East 84th Street around 2 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered Davis's body near the vehicle. He had been fatally shot, though it was unclear if the shooting occurred at that location or elsewhere. This incident marked the 144th homicide in Kansas City for the year 2020.
