Another man named Victor Williams, a 33-year-old, was fatally shot in St. Louis on November 13, 2017. In connection with this homicide, authorities arrested and charged Levander Williams with first-degree murder and other offenses. The two men were not related. At the time of his arrest, a judge set Levander Williams' bail at $1 million. This was not his first encounter with the law for such a serious crime; he had a prior conviction for a killing he committed when he was just 15 years old. After serving a 15-year sentence for the earlier crime, he was paroled in 2015. However, a parole violation sent him back to prison until his release on December 4, 2016, less than a year before the death of Victor Williams.
