In the summer of 2016, a quiet street in the St. Louis suburb of Jennings became the scene of a tragic discovery. On July 20th, officers from the St. Louis County Police Department's Jennings Precinct were dispatched to a residence on the 7300 block of Jenwood Avenue. Inside the home, they found the bodies of 46-year-old Tracy Nailor, a male, and 40-year-old Tonya Friziellie.
The initial investigation at the scene gave way to a darker reality when autopsies were performed.
The medical examiner determined that both Nailor and Friziellie had died from multiple gunshot wounds. Their deaths were officially classified as homicides, launching a full-scale investigation by the St. Louis County Police Department's Bureau of Crimes Against Persons.
Detectives worked to piece together the events that led to the double homicide, but the case proved to be challenging from the outset. Despite their efforts, investigators were unable to immediately identify any suspects or a motive for the killings. The trail grew cold, and no arrests have been made in the years following the deaths of Tracy Nailor and Tonya Friziellie. The case remains an open and unsolved homicide, a painful lingering question for the families and the community. Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward, hoping that a new lead might finally bring a resolution to the violent end of two lives.
