In the spring of 2017, a wave of violence shook a neighborhood in Pine Lawn, a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri, forever altering the lives of three families. On the morning of April 26th, police were called to the 4500 block of Rosewood Avenue to investigate reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered a grim scene: three men had been fatally shot. One of the victims was 29-year-old Calvin Walker, who was found inside a black SUV.
The other two men, Andrew Lee Green, also 29, and 23-year-old Marquise Jamar Cooper, were found nearby on a sidewalk and in a yard. All three men were pronounced dead at the scene from apparent gunshot wounds.
The investigation into the triple homicide was swiftly taken over by the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis, a team of seasoned investigators from various local law enforcement agencies. Detectives worked diligently to piece together the events that led to the brutal killings. In the course of their investigation, they identified two vehicles of interest that may have been connected to the crime: an older model white Chevrolet Impala equipped with a black spotlight, and a black Nissan Altima. Authorities released descriptions of these vehicles to the public in the hopes of generating leads.
Despite their efforts, the case grew cold. No suspects were publicly identified, and no arrests were made in connection with the murders of Calvin Walker, Andrew Green, and Marquise Cooper. The lack of resolution left their families and the community in a state of prolonged grief and uncertainty. In an effort to encourage individuals to come forward with information, CrimeStoppers announced a reward, which was later increased to up to $10,000. Calvin Walker's mother, Vanita Walker, made public pleas for anyone with knowledge of the shooting to speak out, expressing the immense pain of not knowing who was responsible for her son's death and the desperate need for justice and closure. To this day, the case remains unsolved, a lingering tragedy for a community still searching for answers.
