On a winter evening in St. Louis, Missouri, events unfolded that tragically ended the life of 28-year-old Terrell Beasley. On December 19, 2014, Beasley was involved in an incident that began with the following of an off-duty police officer. The officer, after being followed, stopped and exited his vehicle, at which point shots were fired at him from the car Beasley was in.
The officer returned fire, and in the exchange, Beasley was shot and killed.
Hours after the shootout, a grim discovery was made in the Baden neighborhood of St. Louis. Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire and, after extinguishing the flames, found Terrell Beasley's body in the back seat. He had sustained two gunshot wounds. The chain of events that led to this violent end involved a man named Dominic Lamont Irons, who was reportedly driving the vehicle from which the shots were fired at the officer. Irons had been released on parole from the Missouri Department of Corrections that very same day.
In the aftermath of the investigation, Dominic Irons was arrested and faced a series of serious charges. Authorities charged the 29-year-old with second-degree murder for his role in the death of Terrell Beasley, who was described as an accomplice. The charges against Irons also included first-degree assault, two counts of armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon. Police indicated that at least one other person was being sought in connection with the incident. Irons was held on a half-a-million dollars bond.
