In the front courtyard of a north St. Louis County apartment complex, a heated argument between family members on a September morning tragically escalated, ending the life of 25-year-old Demarcus Vintrea Davis. A Black male, Davis was a resident of Florissant, Missouri.
The fatal dispute unfolded around 10:39 a.m. on September 20, 2020, in the 7300 block of Burrwood Drive, at the Lucas Hunt Village Apartment Complex.
During the argument, one of the individuals involved produced a gun and shot Davis. When St. Louis County Police Department officers arrived at the scene, they found Davis suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
In connection with the shooting, a 43-year-old man, who was a family member of Davis, was taken into custody at the apartment complex. The St. Louis County Police Department's Bureau of Crimes Against Persons led the investigation into the homicide. At the time of the initial reports, the suspect had not yet been formally charged as the investigation was ongoing.
