In the early hours of an autumn morning in Saint-Louis, Missouri, the life of 37-year-old Carlos Morris was tragically cut short. On October 4, 2017, police responded to a report of shots fired at a home in the Spanish Lake neighborhood. Inside, they found Morris, who had sustained at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The violence of that morning also left a 14-year-old boy critically injured.
He too had been shot, but thankfully, was expected to survive his injuries. The relationship between Morris and the teenager was not publicly disclosed.
