In the early afternoon of February 15, 2021, the life of 43-year-old Matthew Painter, a White / Caucasian male, was cut short in a burst of violence at a Motel 6 on South Range Line Road in Joplin, Missouri. Responding to reports of shots fired at approximately noon, Joplin Police officers discovered Painter suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate medical attention he received, his injuries proved to be fatal.
