In a tragic turn of events, 14-year-old Deontae Thomas, a Black male, was fatally wounded in a shooting on Saturday, April 17, 2021, in Kansas City, Missouri. The incident occurred at approximately 7 p.m. inside the Hometowne Studios located at 4301 North Corrington Avenue, an area situated across from the Worlds of Fun amusement park.
