On the evening of May 6, 2021, Myron Goodwin, a 35-year-old Black male from St. Louis, Missouri, became the victim of a double homicide that shook the local community. The incident unfolded at an apartment complex located in the 8400 block of Plaza Rock Court in northwest St. Louis County. Around 5:40 p.m., St. Louis County Police officers were dispatched to the residence after receiving urgent reports of gunfire in the area.
Upon their arrival at the scene, law enforcement officials heard additional gunshots coming from inside the specific apartment unit, prompting them to take immediate tactical precautions.
Unable to make contact with anyone inside the dwelling, the responding officers established a secure perimeter around the building and called for the assistance of the St. Louis County Tactical Unit. Once the specialized team arrived and made entry into the apartment, they discovered two unresponsive individuals who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. Myron Goodwin was found deceased alongside his older brother, 36-year-old Michael Goodwin. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene, confirming that the earlier reports of violence had resulted in a tragic loss of life for the siblings.
The investigation was immediately turned over to the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons, which began the process of collecting evidence and canvassing for witnesses. Despite the immediate police presence and the brazen nature of the shooting during daylight hours, detectives struggled to identify the individuals responsible for the killings. In the years following the incident, authorities have not publicly named any suspects, and no arrests have been made in connection with the deaths of the Goodwin brothers. The case remains an open homicide investigation as law enforcement continues to seek leads that could result in criminal charges and a conviction.
