On the evening of July 6, 2021, 39-year-old female Kimmy Goodson was fatally shot in North St. Louis County, Missouri. A resident of the city of Riverview, Goodson had traveled to a beauty salon located in the 2100 block of Chambers Road in an unincorporated area of the county. According to investigators with the St. Louis County Police Department, Goodson arrived at the establishment accompanied by a male companion.
Witnesses and police reports indicate that an altercation broke out
between Goodson and the man while they were inside the business. The dispute continued as the pair exited the salon, escalating into violence in the parking lot. During the confrontation, the man produced a firearm and shot Goodson before fleeing the scene on foot. Police were called to the location around 5:15 p.m., where they found Goodson suffering from at least one gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital but was subsequently pronounced dead.
Known to her loved ones as 'Kimmy K,' Goodson was a mother of six children and a graduate of Sanford Brown Business College with a focus on medical assistance. Following the incident, homicide detectives from the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons launched an investigation, seeking information from the public regarding the male suspect who had run from the scene. As of the last available updates from law enforcement and local news outlets in the months following the shooting, the suspect remained at large, and no arrests had been reported in connection with her death.
