On the night of December 12, 2014, tragedy struck at the Oak Park Apartments in St. Louis County, Missouri, claiming the life of 25-year-old Brittany Jefferson. The young female resident was inside her home on the 11100 block of Riaza Square when the quiet of the early morning was shattered around 12:00 a.m. Residents in the complex reported hearing a disturbance that began when an unknown assailant forcibly kicked in the door to Jefferson’s apartment.
