On November 26, 2021, 32-year-old Edmon E. Alexander III, an African American male, was fatally shot in the parking lot of the Blue Valley Market in Kansas City, Missouri. The incident occurred in the evening at the corner store located near 43rd Street and Cleveland Avenue. Police officers responded to reports of gunfire around 7:40 p.m. and discovered Alexander suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
