On January 29, 2022, a violent quadruple shooting occurred in the Kingsway East neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri, resulting in the deaths of three young men. Among the victims was 18-year-old Armaud Green, a Black male who was the youngest of those killed in the incident. The shooting took place late that Saturday afternoon, with police responding to reports of gunfire in the 4900 block of Cote Brilliante Avenue around 3:35 p.m.
Upon arrival at the scene, first responders discovered a
chaotic aftermath where multiple shots had been fired. Armaud Green and 22-year-old Jeremiah Curry were found deceased in or near a parked vehicle at the location. A third victim, 21-year-old Davion Rayford, had also been struck by gunfire and was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. A fourth man, aged 20, managed to flee the immediate scene and run to a nearby convenience store despite being wounded; he was hospitalized in critical condition but survived the attack.
Investigators scoured the area for evidence, recovering two firearms and approximately 50 shell casings, along with suspected narcotics. At the time of the initial investigation, St. Louis Metropolitan Police Chief John Hayden noted that this event marked the city's first triple homicide in six months. Despite the recovery of physical evidence at the scene, authorities reported having no suspects in custody immediately following the shooting, and no arrests were publicly announced in the initial reports detailing the tragedy. The motive for the shooting remained under investigation as detectives worked to piece together the circumstances that led to the loss of three lives.
