In the evening hours of May 6, 2021, a tragedy unfolded in a northwest St. Louis County apartment complex that claimed the lives of two brothers. Michael Goodwin, a 36-year-old Black male, and his younger brother, Myron Goodwin, aged 35, were found shot to death inside their residence on Plaza Rock Court.
The events began to draw attention around 5:40 p.m. when St. Louis County police officers responded to a call for shots fired at the apartment building.
Upon their arrival, the officers heard more gunshots emanating from within the Goodwin brothers' apartment. The situation grew tense as attempts to make contact with anyone inside the unit were unsuccessful. A perimeter was quickly established around the building, and the St. Louis County Tactical Unit was called to the scene.
Once the tactical unit made entry into the apartment, they discovered the grim reality of the situation. Michael and Myron Goodwin were both found deceased, having suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Investigators from the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons took the lead on the double homicide case.
In the time since the brothers' deaths, authorities have continued their investigation. However, details regarding a motive for the shooting have not been publicly disclosed.
