Lorenzo L. Rodgers, a 23-year-old officer with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, tragically lost his life on June 12, 1990, during a failed street robbery in St. Louis, Missouri. Officer Rodgers was off duty and standing in front of a laundromat at 532 Des Peres Avenue when he was approached by 20-year-old Lamarr Pearson, who attempted to rob him at gunpoint.
