On the night of March 11, 2022, 16-year-old African American male Terrion Smith was fatally shot in the lobby of the Ely Walker Lofts at 1520 Washington Avenue in downtown St. Louis, Missouri. The incident occurred around 11:20 p.m., during a large birthday party hosted in one of the building's units.
