Wendy Kathlene Hudakoc, age 14, went missing on November 15, 1998, after sneaking out of her home in Naples, Florida, to attend a party with friends. Her parents were out of town, and a family friend was staying with Wendy and her 16-year-old sister. Around 11:00 p.m. on November 14, Wendy received a phone call and shortly after, left through her bedroom window, bringing only her stepfather's pager. She promised to return or call if paged but never came back.
Wendy attended the party with Ronald DePeppo, a 20-year-old man she'd met earlier. The two were last seen leaving the party together around 2:30 a.m. DePeppo claimed that Wendy received a page and requested to be dropped off at her home, but this claim was not substantiated by phone records. DePeppo, along with his friend Johnny Walker, provided inconsistent alibis, and DePeppo's car, which was reportedly used that night, mysteriously caught fire weeks later. Despite being considered a person of interest, no solid evidence has emerged linking him or anyone else to Wendy's disappearance.
Wendy has never been found, and authorities now suspect foul play. Despite extensive investigations, her case remains unsolved. Her family has held out hope, but over time, they have come to believe she may no longer be alive. Her case is still open, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact local authorities.
