On the night of Monday June 2 2025, 14-year-old Leland “Mikey” Scales disappeared from his family’s home in the 7100 block of Natal Avenue on Jacksonville’s Westside. Relatives told investigators they last saw him about 11 p.m.; when he had not returned by the next morning they reported him missing to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
