Matthew Leathers, a 33-year-old Navy SEAL, was last seen on February 19, 2013, during a training exercise off the coast of Waianae, Hawaii. Leathers, who was an experienced and highly skilled sailor, disappeared while operating a rigid-hulled inflatable boat during a standard maritime drill. He was not wearing a life jacket at the time and was presumed to have been swept out to sea.
