Milan Vucurevich Jr., an experienced boatman and former U.S. Marine, vanished along with two friends, Mary Huston and Jim Chouinard, on June 3, 1984, while sailing in Hanalei Bay, off the coast of Kauai, Hawaii. The trio had set out for a brief afternoon sail in Vucurevich's 18-foot catamaran, a vessel described by its manufacturer as 'unsinkable'.
