Janis Marie Stavros, aged 42, was last seen on January 3, 2001, in Salt Lake City, Utah, under suspicious circumstances. She had been living in the Canyon Rim area with her boyfriend, Robert Butcher. The night before her disappearance, Janis, Butcher, and her daughter had dinner at the home of her ex-husband, with whom she maintained a friendly relationship.
