Vickie Smock, a 24-year-old woman, was last seen on January 22, 1985, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her father dropped her off at the Greyhound bus station, where she was accompanied by an unidentified male companion. Vickie was planning to travel to Wendover, Nevada, to work as a cocktail waitress at the Red Garter Hotel & Casino. She had $50 in cash and was expected to board a bus for Nevada, but there is no confirmation that she ever made it onto the bus. She has not been seen or heard from since.

At the time of her disappearance, Vickie had dyed blonde hair (though her natural color was brown), hazel eyes, and stood between 5'7" and 5'8" tall, weighing approximately 125 to 145 pounds. Vickie was described as a devoted mother, regularly visiting her two daughters who lived with her ex-husband, and her family found it highly unusual for her to lose contact without explanation.

Vickie had been estranged from her second husband, who was described as jealous and violent toward her, although he was never questioned and has since passed away. Despite investigations, Vickie's case remains unsolved, and foul play is suspected.
