Aletha Jo Williams, a 25-year-old woman, was last seen on March 6, 2002, at the corner of 1700 South and West Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. Before her disappearance, Aletha had dropped off her belongings at a family member's home, stating she would return later, but she never did. Although she was initially reported missing in March 2002, later investigations suggest she may have vanished as early as November 2001. At the time, Aletha was six months pregnant and had a medical condition.
She also had a young son.
Aletha had been involved with drugs and had a criminal history, which may have contributed to her periodic absences from contact. However, her prolonged disappearance was unusual, raising suspicions of foul play. In 2014, law enforcement reopened her case, believing she had been murdered, but searches of the Jordan River and other locations yielded no results. The case intensified when it was revealed that Michael Vincent, a man with a history of domestic violence and a known associate, was likely involved in her disappearance. Vincent’s daughter reported seeing him covered in blood around the time of Aletha's disappearance, and he allegedly confessed to killing a woman matching Aletha’s description. However, Vincent was never formally charged, and he was killed in 2021 in a domestic violence incident.
