Donald William Tobin, 52, was last seen on July 7, 2010, in Riverside, California. He left his home in the 3900 block of Redwood Drive to put some items into a storage unit but never returned. Four days later, on July 11, 2010, his silver 2007 Toyota Corolla was found abandoned at Carlson Dog Park, less than a mile from his home. The items he intended to store were still inside the vehicle, along with his wallet and cell phone, but there was no trace of Tobin himself.

Despite thorough searches of the area around Carlson Dog Park, including the use of helicopters and search dogs, no further clues were uncovered. Tobin had not accessed his bank accounts, nor had he picked up his last paycheck. His family does not believe that he disappeared voluntarily or that he committed suicide, leading them to suspect foul play. Investigators have not been able to determine the cause of his disappearance, and the case remains unsolved.

Tobin's disappearance remains a cold case, with the Riverside Police Department urging anyone with information to come forward.
