On a tragic spring evening, the life of 20-year-old Makayla A. Gregory of Ashland, Virginia, was cut short by gunfire. The date was May 9, 2020, and in the Whitcomb Court neighborhood of Richmond's East End, residents heard the alarming sound of random shots. Police were dispatched to the 2000 block of Sussex Street at approximately 10:32 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered a vehicle that had been damaged by the gunfire.
