Ernest LaGrande Vereen, a 72-year-old mobile home park owner, disappeared from his residence in Garden City Beach, South Carolina, on October 10, 1984. On the day of his disappearance, Vereen missed several appointments, leaving his car parked at his home. His son, Alan, discovered signs of a struggle inside the home, including a spilled basket in the kitchen.
