In the spring of 2011, 63-year-old Vladimir Horak was enjoying a vacation in Hawaii, a long way from his home in the Czech Republic. As part of a tour group, he was exploring the stunning natural beauty of Kauai. On April 28, 2011, the group was in the Hanakapiai area, a location known for its breathtaking but often perilous coastal beauty.
