On October 5, 2020, Dandre Whitley, a 22-year-old male from Nashville, Tennessee, was fatally shot while traveling on the interstate near the I-24/I-65 junction. Whitley was a passenger in a vehicle that had exited at Rosa L. Parks Boulevard and subsequently crashed after losing control. Despite efforts by police and paramedics, Whitley succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
