In the summer of 2008, a 49-year-old sailor named Robert Arvin embarked on a solo journey from Sand Island, Hawaii, with the ambitious destination of San Diego, California. He set sail on his 30-foot Cape Dory sailboat, the 'Ua Noa,' a vessel that would become the last known connection to his whereabouts.
