That evening, she was last seen leaving the Ramada Inn Lounge on U.S. 19 and State Route 60, where she had been having drinks with coworkers after receiving her paycheck. At around 11:30 p.m., Patricia told her friends she was going to the bathroom and took her purse with her. She never returned, and her family reported her missing the following day.
Patricia’s vehicle, a white 1969 Chevrolet Malibu, was discovered abandoned several days later on June 1, 1978, in a parking lot in Tarpon Springs. Inside the car, authorities found a substantial amount of type O blood on the front seat and the floorboard, indicating that someone had sustained a serious injury. While this blood type matched Patricia's, it could not be definitively proven as hers. Her shoes were left in the car, but her purse and the car keys were missing.
