Thomas Brewer Missing Person Case

Thomas Lee Brewer, age 61, was last seen on January 19, 2013, in Marathon, Florida. He disappeared along with his companion, William Vernon Smith, as they departed on a 35-foot white-hulled sailing vessel named *Blondie*. The two men had told friends they planned to sail to the Caribbean, possibly Jamaica. However, they never returned, and no one heard from them after their departure. Brewer, who was in poor health at the time, left without any indication of his plans beyond the trip.

Six weeks after their last sighting, on March 1, 2013, family members reported both Brewer and Smith missing. A search conducted by the U.S. Coast Guard found no trace of the two men or the *Blondie*, and there was no evidence they had entered any foreign ports. Authorities presume that Brewer and Smith were lost at sea, although the circumstances surrounding their disappearance remain unclear. Despite an extensive search effort, the case remains unresolved, leaving family and friends without answers.

The case is being investigated by the Marathon Police Department and the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, but there have been no significant developments to date. Brewer’s disappearance is classified as a "lost/injured missing" case, and his loved ones continue to seek closure.
