After leaving his legal career behind in California, Cisarik purchased a 40-foot yacht named *The Rebel* and embarked on a journey seeking a simpler life. On June 2 or 3, 1995, he set sail from Auckland, New Zealand, heading towards the Tonga Islands, a journey typically taking two weeks.
