In 1994, Harrod's car was found sold in Denver, Colorado, suggesting he may have traveled west, though no concrete evidence of his whereabouts has emerged. Another twist in the case involves discrepancies in Harrod’s background, such as records indicating that the Social Security number he was using was issued only in 1987. Additionally, the high school Harrod claimed to attend had no record of him, and bizarrely, a boy with the same name and birth details had reportedly died in Ohio at the age of five.
