In the early morning hours of May 4, 1989, 22-year-old Sargent Scott Micek vanished from South Bend, Indiana. He had been out for the evening, visiting at least two local bars. His night started around 10:00 p.m. at Cap 'n Cork, now known as Corby's Irish Pub, and later he was at the Bear's Den Tavern on North Michigan Street.
