Later that evening, her husband and son reported her missing. Flint's vehicle was found crashed at the Angelina River bridge, but she was not inside. The investigation revealed that she was traveling at 83 miles per hour when she crashed.
In January 2022, nearly four years after her disappearance, Flint's remains were discovered in a wooded area near Reklaw, Texas. The Rusk County Sheriff's Office confirmed the identity of the remains through DNA testing and dental recognition. Flint's son, James, speculated that his mother's mental health struggles might have played a role in her disappearance.
