Phoenix police have made an arrest in a New Year’s Day shooting that left a 36-year-old man dead on the alleged killer's couch, according to court records.

Alex Pineda, 29, was arrested just before 11 p.m. on New Year’s Day on suspicion of shooting an acquaintance in the head, according to court documents. Pineda also was suspected to have threatened witnesses who observed the attack.
