Charlene, who was of Sioux and Ojibwe descent, was known to use several aliases, including "Butterfly," "Chez," and "Cruz." She had distinct tattoos, including one on the back of her neck with the name "Cruz" and tattoos on the fingers of her left hand. She also had scars on her left cheek and near her eye. Authorities launched a search in 2012, focusing on a rural property near the Brazos River, but no evidence was found.
