Fred Comstock, a 19-year-old male, went missing on September 1, 1975, during a hiking trip in Yosemite National Park. He was hiking with a female companion and her son, whom he had recently met. While at the Vogelsang High Sierra Camp, it was agreed that Fred would hike back to Tuolumne Meadows to retrieve the companion’s car and drive it to Yosemite Valley, where they would meet.
