Arthur Estes, a 25-year-old man, went missing on May 24, 1976, during a hiking trip in Yosemite National Park. He was dropped off at the junction of Tioga Road and May Lake Road to begin a two-day hike, with plans to trek toward Yosemite Valley via the Snow Creek Trail. His last known location was near May Lake, a popular area for hikers. Estes was an experienced hiker, standing 5'10" and weighing 165 lbs at the time of his disappearance.
