The decedent was struck by a motor vehicle as he attempted to cross I-10 East near mile post 18. The decedent was believed to have just crossed into the United States from Mexico and was running from US Customs and Border Patrol agents. An individual who was traveling with the decedent stated that he was from Guatemala, but was unable to provide the decedent's name or his home town.
