On July 18, 2004 at 2005 hours, the decedent was involved in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 40 near Ludlow, California. She sustained fatal injuries and was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival. Her identity could not be determined at the time of the incident. The Mexican Consulate was notified on 07/27/2004. Public notices were issued in Oaxaca and Mexico City, but no family came forward. Because no Mexican birth record was located, the Consulate believed the decedent was likely from Central America.
