Khala Fowler, a 31-year-old female resident of St. Louis, Missouri, was a dedicated public servant and devoted mother who had committed her professional life to the criminal justice system. Born in Columbia and raised in Mexico, Missouri, she graduated from Mexico Senior High School before earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Lincoln University.
Fowler channeled her education into a career as a Probation and Parole officer with the Missouri Department of Corrections, where she was known for her compassion and commitment. Her life outside of work revolved around her young son, who was described as the center of her world.
On the afternoon of July 2, 2022, Fowler’s life was cut short in a violent double homicide in the Vandeventer neighborhood of St. Louis. Just before 2:30 p.m., authorities were called to the 1000 block of North Sarah Street, where they discovered a vehicle containing Fowler and a second victim, 37-year-old Wayne Warmack. Both individuals had been shot and were pronounced dead at the scene. The discovery of the victims inside the car in broad daylight sent shockwaves through the local community and left family members grappling with the sudden loss.
Despite the investigation by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, authorities have struggled to identify the perpetrators responsible for the shooting. As of the latest available reports, no suspects have been publicly named, and no arrests have been made in connection with the deaths of Fowler and Warmack. Detectives have continued to solicit information from the public in hopes of generating leads that might solve the case, but the murders remain unsolved, leaving the families of the victims waiting for justice.
