On the afternoon of August 7, 2022, law enforcement officers in Normandy, Missouri, responded to a call regarding a shooting victim discovered in a parking lot. At approximately 4:58 p.m., police arrived at the 7200 block of Natural Bridge Road, located in St. Louis County. Upon inspecting a vehicle at the scene, they found 18-year-old Misean Hines, a Black male, unresponsive in the backseat. He had sustained a single gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities.
Investigators noted that no weapons were recovered from the immediate vicinity, deepening the mystery surrounding the circumstances of his death.
The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis was immediately activated to assist the Normandy Police Department with the homicide investigation. Detectives worked to piece together the events leading up to the shooting, canvassing the area and seeking potential witnesses. In the days following the discovery, the investigation garnered significant attention as officials followed various leads. By the following Tuesday, the Major Case Squad announced that they had developed promising information connecting a person of interest to the case. This individual was reportedly involved in a vehicle crash on Interstate 170, which investigators believed was linked to the homicide.
Despite the identification of a person of interest and the leads generated by the crash on the interstate, no formal charges were immediately filed in connection with the death of Misean Hines. After several days of intensive work, the Major Case Squad announced that the case would be transferred back to the Normandy Police Department for further investigation. While the probe uncovered significant details, public records did not indicate a final arrest or conviction for murder at the time of the reports, leaving the case in the hands of local detectives to pursue the remaining evidence.
