In the early hours of August 8, 2022, a tragedy unfolded on the streets of St. Louis, Missouri, that claimed the life of 25-year-old Dasia Bowers. A mother to a young daughter, Bowers was driving home around 12:30 a.m. While driving, she was on a video call with her boyfriend, a conversation that would be brutally cut short. Police were called to the 2500 block of North Broadway in the Near North Riverfront neighborhood shortly after 1:20 a.m. There, they discovered Bowers inside her vehicle, having succumbed to the gunshot wound.
