On August 13, 2022, fifty-nine-year-old Elizabeth Engman Gill was fatally shot inside her home in Kirkwood, a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. Friends and family remembered the victim as a kind woman with a 'heart of gold' who was a beloved mother, sister, and aunt. The tragedy unfolded on a Saturday evening when her ex-boyfriend and business partner, fifty-four-year-old Todd M. Wilbert, allegedly began contacting her repeatedly to demand money.
