In the quiet, rural setting of Turney, Missouri, the life of 34-year-old Joshua Aaron Galloway was abruptly cut short on the evening of August 17, 2022. A White male known for his sense of humor and willingness to lend a hand to friends and family, Joshua was a father of four who enjoyed the outdoors, often finding solace in fishing, writing, and drawing. His life, however, came to a violent end that Wednesday evening, leaving a community in shock and a family to grapple with a devastating loss.

The Clinton County Sheriff's Office received a distressing 911 call reporting a man with a gunshot wound at a residence just outside the small town. When deputies and first responders arrived at the scene, they found Joshua Galloway gravely injured. Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clinton County Coroner. The initial moments of the investigation were critical, as law enforcement began to piece together the events that led to the fatal shooting.

The investigation quickly zeroed in on a suspect. Within a mere two hours of the incident, authorities had identified 19-year-old Brayden Michael Holloway of Kansas City, Missouri, as the individual allegedly responsible for Galloway's death. Acting on information provided by witnesses, the Clay County Sheriff's Office located and apprehended Holloway at a residence in Kansas City. He was subsequently charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action. A significant bond of $250,000, cash only, was set, reflecting the serious nature of the charges he faced. The swift arrest was the result of a collaborative effort between multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Cameron and Lathrop Police Departments, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
