He was found in the bathtub of the residence, clinging to life. Emergency personnel hastily transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment, but despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
The investigation quickly turned toward those who had been present at the scene, leading authorities to identify a suspect who was closely related to the victim. Witnesses reported that Jones had been involved in a verbal altercation with his cousin inside the apartment just moments before the gunfire erupted.
