On October 7, 2022, at approximately 2 a.m., Kansas City, Missouri, police officers responded to reports of an armed individual near East 67th Street and South Benton Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered 36-year-old Donald Owens and 32-year-old Ashley Martinez outside a residence, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention, both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
