On November 14, 1980, the city of Hammond, Indiana, was shaken by the violent death of 33-year-old male police officer Lawrence Pucalik. A dedicated member of the Hammond Police Department for nearly seven years, Pucalik was working an off-duty security job at a Holiday Inn on Cline Avenue to support his family.
